The Psychiatrist's House: A photography and film location

Built in 1953, this is the very first house built on one of Southern California's most striking, least-known streets — a palm tree-lined cliffside road that rivals Beverly Hills in beauty but remains, remarkably off the radar.

The house itself is mid-century in bones, craftsman in spirit: unpretentious, warm, and lived-in rather than showy. Terraced gardens of mature cacti cascade down the cliffside, echoing the terraced landscapes of Laguna Beach, but without a single tourist in sight.

The master bedroom and Living room face Catalina and the Pacific Ocean. In fact, the house is the closest point on the mainland to Catalina.
